And yeah, if I recall, about 7:30 BOTT is where it REALLY gets interesting

hope you dug the serious funk that led up to it

  2. chefbradford Says:

If you’re interested, I can mail a copy of 12/29 if you can’t find it elsewhere, just let me know via e-mail or whatever

  3. Lycanthropist Says:

    now THAT was an incrediblejam!

  4. chefbradford Says:

Then you may well crap your pants when you hear the stunning segue-fest that was Set II 12/29

First set was fantastic as well

If you are a Tweezer fan, this one will satisfy your soul

And, though it may not seem to be the dream of a lot of phans, the Jibboo>Wilson>Jibboo>Heavy Things is truly magnificent

I’ve loved Heavy Things since I first heard it on ‘Farmhouse’ almost ten years ago, but for the most part, the live versions I’ve heard haven’t matched the studio version in heart and quality. This one trumps all, in spades

I always seem to be at my most vociferous when the BlackBoard is its most deserted

    Go figure

To all- I don’t remember how I even found this site, but find it I did, sometime in August or September 2008. I read Miner’s posts daily, listened when I could, read the board a little bit. Started posting, I don’t know, maybe around or alittle after Hampton. Really picked up around F8, have been a daily poster since then. Most of you that I’ve encountered have made this by far the most pleasant chat/blog/whatever thing I’ve ever been a part of. And, thanks to Mr Miner, all of you, the band (duh), and my own reflections, I’ve become even more familiar and fascinated with this band. I really do enjoy this community we are building, and I look forward to meeting many of you in the near future. I’m sure I’ve posted something along these lines recently, but it can’t hurt to do it again

Especially at this hour, there’s no one to read it 🙂

I really do enjoy this community, even when I’m not posting, just reading everyone else’s thoughts is wonderful

BrandonKayda- keep it up, bud, I’m pretty sure the reason this site has a board is to allow readers to project their thoughts. Keep it up, man, keep it up

Robear- thanks for the incoming cd’s, I’m pumped

Mr Miner and others- thanks for the generous offers of NY Run tix, I wish I could have taken you up on them

Lycan- I’ve thoroughly enjoyed listening to your bands, and although I didn’t get the external HD I’d hoped for, I’ll get one sometime this year, and DL as much of your amazing stuff as I can

you guys are the cat’s meow

  7. chefbradford Says:

Hey man, I do the same thing. I love to read, and I’m sad that I know so few who share that joy.

However, though I love to read, I am at this moment splitting my time between PhishThoughts and ModernWarfare2 🙂 And streaming NYE

  8. chefbradford Says:

Boy, I did pretty well on the calls on 12.31!

    After calling Demand,

“Disease will be a monster tonight, YEM, too.

    Seven Below. Ghost.”

The Disease was a NYE insanity catapult, the -7 came from the Demand and the YEM was solid, if not a true monster….and how ’bout that Ghost>NO2?

    I might be Mike.

First post, fan since 92. Just got around to listening to 12/29 all through and have to agree with Mr. Miner that this was the show of the year. I listened to 12/30 first, which is real good (especially the BOTT)
but the 29th crushes. The second set is mind blowing beginning to end, a complete set of music. Thats what I miss most about the old days (92-94) is the completeness of a set of music. Some other shows have come close this year, but this is it. I also agree with how lucky we are to be experiencing a comeback of the music we love. New Years Run is definitely the exlamation point on a great year and the sign that our boys are back and ready to throw down. The tweezer is sick (although I don’t think jam of the year–and RR was definitely more rockin and danceable) and the Caspian is best ive ever heard and the combination is perfect. And the Jibboo and the seque back into Jibboo are highlights of the year. And then 2001>Slave, sick!!!!
The first set is also full of highlights, but still not a complete set of music like back in the day (go check out 12/30/92 first set), no first set these days touches that shit. That was my last new years run! You guys who were in Miami are so lucky, wish I was there, maybe next year. All I got was Red Rocks, but am so glad for that and it was such an incredible experience to be back, listening to the boys and having a mellow scene. Thats what I also miss about back in the day, was the mellow scene, but now we have it back, a little older and a little wiser and we are left with the people that are into the music! Because the music is what it is all about and we have it back, we are so lucky. Hallelujah!!! Here’s looking forward to much more goodness to come!!
Found this site around Hampton and love it, excellent job!!!
    Thank you, Mr.Miner….
and more importantly thank you Trey and the boys!!!
Peace, Love, and Music in 2010!!!!
