Returning From The Desert

Festival 8 (A.Lansing)

Festival 8 (A.Lansing)

I just got out of the festival where I was relying on a communal, camp wireless card the entire weekend. Gotta deal with the RV and drive up north tomorrow, and I should be getting back to regular posting by later this week. And boy is there a lot to say! Sunday’s night’s show easily vaulted to the top shelf of 3.0 offerings with a second set chock-full of chunky dance grooves and a whole lot more. We will be looking at Phish’s eighth festival from all sorts of angles…when I get home!

    AHH! Borealis!

Watching that video gives me two distinct impressions.
    1) That is awesome. With the right combination of psychedelics and musical framing…brilliant.
    2) If I saw one of the douches with a laser-pointer shining it on that artwork, I would have slapped them right across the face. You literally couldn’t see the thing at its most beautiful because three or four ass-clowns out of 30,000 can’t act older than three years old. That’s embarrassing.
    Still, really cool looking.

How about those white trailer bathrooms? Those F’ers were straight class.

Hell yeah! Nice fixtures, and sinks taboot. Nice to stumble across after a warm day in the field.

  4. Frankie Says:

Yeah, i was annoyed by those lasers as well, neemor. I posted this before but here is what Fish thinks of those laser pointers from the Clifford Ball box set… it says it all…

Yup – I can’t post tomorrow b/c of work stuff. I created some goofy Events on the FB page. I saw the discussions and Mitch has a spreadsheet.

Wow, with PH back after 5 years we’ve really got this shit covered from all angles. Doniar Schvice meet Mr. Internet. Even the Phish.net is looking classy these days.

  6. BTB Says:

We even got a Burble. Whatever the hell that is

  7. neemor Says:

Nice work on the Events with the pics and everything, BTB. Classy!

  8. BTB Says:

Cool. I did up to CCCC in an hour and then FB sent me a message saying I created to many events and they were going to boot me off the site.

I’ll post MSG and JPJ tomorrow. I don’t want to get struck by lightening from the all powerful FB Gods.

Glad everybody had a great time at Feight. I almost committed suicide and hit a biker with my car. No big deal. I’ll watch the 3D DVD by next Christmas I’m sure.

3DF8 – you’ll be able to watch it on your flat panel at home in a couple of years I promise.

Yes. Torn and Frayed should remain in the repertoire.

clearly epically late to this party. have nothing but great things to say.

exile sounded amazing, the horns and backup vox added so much without taking anything away from Phish themselves. one of my favorite Suzy Greenberg’s of all time… definitely my favorite “type 1”, if you can call it that. still have to put my 12/28/03 and 9/14/00 above it but still.

    other highlights for me…

the party time turned out to be, besides a mood/lyrically fitting opener, a decent little diddy as well. trey rocked it out i think as much as it could be. dwd prince woflmans piper was an amazing phishy excursion… first experimental wolfmans of 3.0 as far as i know.

the acoustic curtain with and mcgrupp were serious treats… fantastic. then the band kicked it up with a killer jibboo, heavy things (really?) and undermind. tweezer>maze was a KILLER 1-2 punch and trey ripped maze a new one, and then the first ever mikes>2001 and a psychedelic light jam to top it off… wow. just wow… and they really kicked ass on the Slave… glad they got that song straightened out at hartford cuz now it rocks again.

can’t wait to hear what miner has to say about this weekend. and super pumped about the 3d movie?!

also! first ever curtain with – rift in the same show! kind of cool, i’m sure it’s been said somewhere already but didn’t have the time to read all 24 pages of comments

I don’t recall anyone mentioning that, good call. (Rift/With)
We had talked about that earlier this year…

  14. Mdawg Says:

    We’ve got a BURBLE…

    …cuz we got a band!

and we float Burbles in the band.

Friday and Saturday, late-night, in KidA parking lot, there was a rocking jam-band that played for hours! Does anyone know the bands name or where they are from? I would love to see them again!
