The Windy City Awaits
I had no time for writing yesterday as I had to tie up loose ends at home and pack for the next few weeks. Until Chicago…

This second night of the band’s two night stand in Hartford featured a strong second set, with the most compelling jam coming right at the end in a set-closing “Ghost.” Phish will be back at “The Meadows” in a matter of a week.

at one point my tie dye skills were teetering on the brink of “mad”
that being said, anything @ the greeks involving effort or organization is going to be a no go on my part. Slackness and chaos will prevail in my world, or so I pray. You all knock yourselves out though.

bottom line on these NBA Finals
When the Celtics play good D the Lakers can’t run their offense, period. Usually comes down to Kobe jacking a 3, and since he’s #24 he makes some of them. Credit where it’s due.
The same is not true in reverse. All that shitty shooting by the Cs is just that. The shots are fine. Nothing to do with the Lakers. But the Celtics offense is totally out of whack. Rondo is in a funk and it changes the whole dynamic of their offense…
and even with all of that horrible shooting they’re tied 2-2
and if they hadn’t had SIX turnovers in the fourth quarter of game 3 they probably would have won a game in which neither Pierce nor Allen did anything and would be up 3-1
basically, if one of the Celtics main guys gets back on his offensive game and the D stays the same, the Celtics will win. And if 2 of the guys get going at the same time they will blow the Lakers out.
when they make shots, the Celtics are a vastly superior team because of the way their D disrupts everything about the Lakers offense. Yes: vastly superior.
But they just can’t make a bunch of open motherfucking shots and if they lose because of that it will just be pathetic and sad.
that’s all this series comes down to now, I think
celtics make shots, they win. if not, they don’t.
a weird and frustrating series to watch.
Can’t sleep. Too jacked for tomorrow.

final thought
amazing how much turns on a single skill
Rondo is 4 of 15 from the line for the series, and it’s made him hesitant to attack on offense.
This allows the Lakers to play off him and improves their overall team defense while stagnating the Celtic offense at the same time.
It’s changing the whole dynamic at that end and just because Rondo has slumped from a mediocre FT shooter (which isn’t good enough for a PG anyway) to a terrible one at the worst possible time
could swing the series easily
(course it’d help if they’d run pick and rolls for pierce, or…really almost any kind of actual play)
@sillywilly – didnt you say you were going with your dad? cuz i noticed bane on ur list haha. just curious
ok deeper into this CCD site and liking it more. no surprise it’s a Joe Henry production, or that they met in Boone. Like the stuff with beatboxing
