Until Monday…

I’m on a long weekend with my family and will be back Monday with my regularly scheduled breakdown of summer’s second leg.

8.7.10 - The Greek (Wendy Rogell)

Jam of the Day:

Rock and Roll” 8.6.10 II

This underrated jam from The Greek followed up the opening night’s “Disease” as the second example of Phish’s newest jamming style. Look for Fishman’s dynamic rhythms that frame the band’s melodic interplay in the second half of the jam.

Official Telluride Poster (Stout)

A solid, straight-forward rock show in the mountains. “Carini” and “YEM” highlighted the second set, and “Mikes > Crosseyed” ain’t too shabby of a combo either.

I: The Squirming Coil, Stealing Time From the Faulty Plan, Ya Mar, Timber Ho, Let Me Lie, The Divided Sky, Walk Away, Roses Are Free, Limb By Limb, Bouncing Around the Room, Run Like an Antelope

II: Party Time, Mike’s Song > Crosseyed and Painless > I Am Hydrogen > Weekapaug Groove, Destiny Unbound, Carini > Free > Heavy Things, You Enjoy Myself

E: Shine a Light

  2. ThePigSong Says:

just got off some mega-hours at work and I’m spinning this DC Hood – The control and tone that Trey displays at points is truly top notch.

Grooveshark dot com streams a lot of phish music. if you search for Wolfman’s you can find the one on Live Phish 16. Awesome Tweezer on that disc from the day before (10/30/98) that I just heard tonight for the first time.

Why not more FL shows in Fall?

  7. Rendog Says:

Don’t forget Hershey set II. Just destroys! Thanks phish 3.0 . Also watched my Boot DVD 4/29/90 different era but equally tasty. Don’t forget that chocolate 3.0.

All the Vegas Wolfmans talk made me dig through 10/31/98…it was really odd how ghost went down that night? Here is a vid of it.

Trey seemed really out of sorts and I wonder what he told Mike at 3:47.

I really have to pee &)

  10. madmax76 Says:

I got a link to Eyes of the world GD on that one and goin to check it

  11. Rendog Says:

Hershey YEM is the best Mike I’ve heard

  12. Selector J Says:

    @ramblin Glad to hear you’re a tough guy like me… 😉

The Vegas Ghost shenanigans definitely colors my opinion of the VW, GG. I can’t totally divorce myself from knowing Trza was borderline incapacitated for that set.

The Greek Light, tho… that !@#% is $$$!

  13. Jtran Says:

    It’s so crazy to listen to 10/31 > 11/2 98.

  14. Jtran Says:

Can’t even imagine being in Utah that night..

  15. Robear Says:

    Top of the mornin’ all.

First rain of the season. Might put a damper on the hiking trip.

Hang in there Sancho. Better to have love than money. And is it sounds like the money’s coming soon!

Rendog, concur on Hershey ‘YEM’. Probably my favorite since the return. Followed closely by MSG.

  16. Robear Says:

Anyone need a job this fall?

Far from Phish tour, but couch tour could be in effect.

Involves plenty of lifting and packing. ( you find your true friends when it’s time to move )

Lots of good food, bane and spirits.

    Surrounded by natural beauty.

Pays pretty well, with hard to measure benefits.

  17. Nagarjuna Says:

Damn robear, I wish my life allowed me to take you up on that offer. Surely the good vibes, good tunes, and general …atmosphere… would be compensation enough.

Would be cool if the bb had more physical proximity and we could pull a crew together to help. Sort of habitat for humanity meets Vegas wolfmans…

Anyway, good luck with everything! Hope you get some good help.
