It’s weird having you guys 3 hours behind me

  2. Tzara's Ghost Says:

SBIX simple just reminded me of a Rothko painting. It seems to levitate in place, vibrating in three dimensions. As you regard it, it changes shape slightly before your gaze. And it takes a lot more skill and thought than most people would think.

Also, it bears no resemblance to the Greek Simple jam except for starting with the same song.

  3. BrandonKayda Says:

    Gorge Gin is STILL awesome

  4. sumodie Says:

I’m not as taken with sbix simple as some others seem to be…will have to re-spin that one yet again

finished first 3 sets from Saturday -not sure if I’ll be ready for the Storage Set -most likely I’ll skip to Sunday

would be fun to read everyone’s “Top 10-15 highlights from sbix” lists some day before the Gorge -I’m def not ready for that just yet tho

Every leg 2 venue seems pretty choice to me. Doesn’t matter if the Tahoe venue is in a parking lot -the very fact that it’s an all general admission outdoor show is what’s important (don’t worry, they won’t have the chairs laid out). And who cares about the casinos -you’ll be in freakin’ Tahoe!

Call me crazy, but I’d much rather catch Tahoe along with Outside Lands or HBowl than UIC. However, reality says I’m skipping them all

  5. sumodie Says:

“So is IT spiritual or not?”

Some would argue that everyday existence is spiritual, which would therefore include IT

  6. BrandonKayda Says:

Gorge Hood is beautiful as well

  7. Tzara's Ghost Says:

@bk Gorge gin>hood is immortal. Absolutely top notch. I know DF agrees.

  8. Rendog Says:

    Gorge Manteca . . . .Gorge Manteca. . . .my request for 2011

  9. DukeOfLizards Says:

@sumo, if we’re talking fifteen individual tracks, and excluding the Storage Jam:

    Wolfman’s
    Simple
    Birds
    Stash
    Scents
    Golden Age
    Tweezer
    Destiny
    ASIHTOS
    Reba -> Bowie
    Disease -> No Quarter
    Light > Waves

Obviously this answer will be different by tomorrow.

    Night kids.

  10. BrandonKayda Says:

    Light>Waves was not a segue

  11. ae Says:

    this board is the bomb.

  12. Tzara's Ghost Says:

Also, @sumodie,pretty much all of the sbix simple is ambient, so I think it’s certainly OK for some people to like it more than others. There is no real groove involved, so it’s not a ‘complete’ jam that has it all. More of a soundscape. I could see how people might find that individual jam wanting. But in the overall scheme of sbix, where they did it all at some point, it serves its specific purpose in spades, IMO.

OK I’m out. Good Sunday, BB.

  13. Tzara's Ghost Says:

And by all of the simple being ambient, I meant the Type II part. OK, really out. Just couldn’t sleep leaving that thought poorly expressed.

  14. voopa Says:

I suspect that the chairs WILL be at Tahoe. They don’t know what’s coming. But we’ll see.

  15. BrandonKayda Says:

    Anyone up?

  16. voopa Says:

    Nope.

  17. BrandonKayda Says:

    Well shit.

  18. voopa Says:

Heh. Sorry BK, gotta get to bed soon.

  19. BrandonKayda Says:

    Don’t we all.

Talk to you later voopa. Cheers 😀

  20. Mr.Miner Says:

me luv sb simple….i think its getting glossed over by most…

  21. BrandonKayda Says:

You may be right Miner, I need to relisten. Set II night one, set III night two, and both sets night three were the best parts of SB9 excluding Storage Jam

  22. Mr.Miner Says:

Some would argue that everyday existence is spiritual, which would therefore include IT

^is this not a common understanding?

  23. BrandonKayda Says:

Sometimes I live in the country, sometimes I live in the town, sometimes I have a great notion to jump into the river and drown…

Leadbelly is good late night music

  24. angryjoggerz Says:

Everything in existence is at once both profoundly spiritual and boringly mundane. To try to draw distinctions is the dance of illusion.
