MR. MINER'S PHISH THOUGHTS

Festival Express

With Super Ball IX on our minds, I figured I’d drop one highlight from each of the previous eight festivals to enjoy throughout your Tuesday.

***

Harry Hood” 8.16.96 III

The Great Went

The first festival “Hood;” a soaring rendition from the third set of The Clifford Ball.

***

Wolfman’s > Simple” 8.16.97 II

Two of so many amazing jams at The Great Went.

***

Ghost” 8.16.98 II

Lemonwheel

As Summer ’98 came to a close, Phish began weaving in a new style of melodic, ambient jamming—present in this “Ghost”—that would become prevalent throughout the fall. This version is a gorgeous festival highlight that often flies under the radar.

***

Tweezer -> Have Mercy” 7.17.99 I

This gooey “Tweezer” provided the sunset soundtrack on the first night at Osewgo.

***

After Midnight Reprise” 12.31.99

Sacred Phish ground from the depths of night at Big Cypress.

***

46 Days” 8.3.03 II

IT

Post-hiatus abstract psychedelia at its finest.

***

AC/DC Bag” 8.14.04 II

One of few impressive musical moments at Coventry.

***

You Enjoy Myself” 10.31.09 III

A climactic version from the third set of a West Coast Halloween.
