First “weekend nuggets” of 2012! Thanks Miner!
Greetings from Amarillo, TX.
Gonna try and get to Barstow, CA by tomorrow night.
Listened to 12/29/11 II on gone phishin (pops has sirius)….Jonathan Swartz really loved it. It is a fun set, but they had a chance in that Simple
Night, kids.
You’re half the way home, Silly. Goin’ back to Cali
Silly’s in no hurry no, ’cause he knows where to go
California, prophet on the burning shore, etc.
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like “I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should drive….” And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Las Vegas. And a voice was screaming “Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?”
Then it was quiet again. My attorney had taken his shirt off and was pouring beer on his chest, to facilitate the tanning process. “What the hell are you yelling about?” he muttered, staring up at the sun with his eyes closed and covered with wraparound Spanish sunglasses. “Never mind,” I said. “It’s your turn to drive.” I hit the brakes and aimed the Great Red Shark toward the shoulder of the highway. No point mentioning those bats, I thought. The poor bastard will see them soon enough.
Have some soul for the road. Maybe even your dad can hang with this one.

How sad…. only two highlights from four shows at MSG. Who would’ve thunk it. Although, Steam was by far and away the greatest moment of the whole weekend and is not represented here.

There isn’t a single worthy classic burger spot in all of Phila. It’s criminal.

heels at 2
saints v niners at 4:30
broncos v pats at 8
and . . . for those of you who missed IT . . . see page 24 from yesterdays comments for a page that will go down in history!
I can speak to Dotty Dumpling’s absolutely great burger during the years of 1998-2002
I’d be very upset to learn that the quality has gone downhill in 10 years
though if you want a pretty cool experience, don’t sleep on the patty melt at Nick’s bar, next to the renovated Orpheum theater on State Street
I lived on their patty melt and white russians for a few years
mmmmm nuggets
Top Notch is exactly as advertised! TOP NOTCH haha

call me a custy, but i’ve really been on a five guys kick as of late.
Five guys aok fall back. I’m not mad at that
5 guys gets my vote as maybe best large chain burger…consistent and well built. And yes, you most certainly do want fries with that.
Never been to 21 south gdad. The original was on south blvd not far from my place but it closed abt 3-4 years ago. The other one is close to my office, need to give it a go. I have friends that swear by it. Several pretty good burger joints here.
